American non objective painter, Chelsea Kosta, has been enamored with the effects of color and scale in artwork since 2016. As the daughter of an Impressionist painter, she became infatuated by tonalism which strongly influenced her use of color.Her experience working as a commercial artist in San Francisco instilled a fascination with large scale work, and as an artist’s assistant she mastered the use of large palette knives, preparing her to establish her own unique style.A minimalist in practice, Chelsea values the act of seeing, and invites the viewer to remain in the moment and form a relationship with each individual painting.
